Who-Me!

Women Involvement is for women who are pregnant and/or parenting children 0-6, and are struggling with drugs or alcohol.  Everyone who is part of the project has the opportunity to participate.

WHY ?

v      Women Involvement is an important part of the project.  It provides women with the opportunity to contribute through sharing their wisdom.  Their skills are valuable to the project.

WHAT
WOULD I DO?

Women can be involved in opportunities such as assisting with lunch preparation, or demonstrating a craft activity. Support is provided by  staff.  In the past, women have been part of assisting with an open house, developing a calendar, gardening, and “Women’s Voices”. 
 

HOW
WOULD IT WORK ?

Opportunities are posted on the bulletin board and put on the answering machine.  The opportunity is outlined with the task, the times required and the skills helpful to complete the task.  Women are given $20 for participating. A receipt will be signed by the women, on receiving the money.  Childcare and transportation would be provided for the involvement on an as need basis.
 

WHERE WOULD I LOOK FOR THESE OPPORTUNITIES? 

The opportunities will be posted on the bulletin board in the front room at the site.  Women can respond to the opportunity by either calling or talking to Madeleine.  The opportunity is filled on a first come first serve basis.
