Pregnancy and Health - Community Outreach Project

The Pregnancy and Health - Community Outreach Project is a 5 year demonstration project funded by the Federal Government Early Years Initiatives - Early Childhood Development Initiative for Addiction Programs.  

Project Philosophy:
The Pregnancy and Health – Community Outreach Project uses a strength-based approach to encourage women using substance and are pregnant or parenting young children to define their own needs and priorities for supports and services.

Our Goal :
Is to develop a sustainable, integrated service network that utilizes a harm reduction approach in providing services and supports to women who are pregnant and using substances.

The plan: 

• 1st Year:  Develop community- based resource material and educational initiatives.

• 2nd Year & 3^rd Year:  Establish an integrated system of service delivery responsive to the needs of pregnant women using substances.

• 4^th Year & 5th Year:  Develop and implement strategies for evaluating and sustaining the integrated system.
